Update – January 2014

High profile and challenging projects

2013 has been a buoyant year for Technik and we would like to thank our clients for the opportunity to demonstrate our capabilities on some extremely challenging high–profile projects. During this period, we have worked with both new and old clients from our Branlow days, with some calling upon our services on multiple occasions.

Many projects have included piling on restricted access sites in the Infrastructure and Industrial sectors throughout the UK. Scope of works varied from a single pile solution to over 500 piles.

We have also experienced significant additional demand within the Housing, Building and Commercial/Retail sectors, which are benefitting from the current economic upturn – long may this continue.

Basements in London, theatre retrofits, industrial crane bases/pits, contiguous walls in Aberdeen granite, bridge abutment stabilisation (in 1.5m headroom), replacement car-park columns (in 2m headroom) and shopping centre re-fits/mezzanines have all required cutting edge, innovative solutions.

Continuously grouted micro pile

Our continuously grouted micropile has been introduced to the UK market on numerous projects, delivering enhanced geotechnical capacity and substantial cost savings when compared to drilling systems such as ODS/ODEX and conventional hollow-bar (self-drill).

Link-Up Accreditation

In 2013, we received Link-Up Accreditation for a wide range of our geotechnical services and increased the number of our people trained and certified to work in the Rail Sector.

Our technical CPD Seminars have once again been in great demand, where we strongly recommend consulting the specialist before embarking on any geotechnical project. We also feature numerous failures where this has not happened or where the focus has been purely on cost at the expense of geotechnical risk.
